Meade - DSI III Monochromatic CameraMeade is excited to announce the NEW Deep Sky Imager III. This next step up in the DSI camera line brings numerous new features and enhancements that allow the user to achieve a higher level of imaging with the same ease of use and low cost that has made the DSI the camera of choice for so many beginning and advanced astro-imagers.Here is a list of some of the new features of this exciting new CCD camera: 1. DSI III’s extremely low thermal noise allows it to out-perform cooled cameras costing nearly twice as much. 2. DSI III uses a 1.4MP Color Sony ExView HADTM CCD that features a large 2/3\”, 1,360 x 1024 pixel, image sensor with a 16-Bit A/D converter. The DSI PRO III uses the monochrome version of this sensor. 3. Increased resolution without interpolation. 4. A final image that is nearly 4 times larger than previous DSIs. 5. The DSI III’s electronics and sensor provide progressive scan in place of interlaced scan which produces outstanding planetary and lunar images. 6. New version of EnvisageTM camera control software with new and enhanced features. 7. Optional 2x2 binning makes this already sensitive imager 4x more sensitive. 8. Built in temperature sensor provides fast and accurate auto-dark frame subtraction. 9. Eliminates Alt-Az field rotation with simple 2-star selection. 10. Deep Sky Imager works on any telescope and can also be used as a sensitive and simple-to-use Autoguider on AutoStar computerized telescopes. |
