80mm Series 5000 ED APO Optical Tube Assemblies

For crisp wide field observing and imaging, nothing can beat a true triple-element apochromatic refractor (APO). This is especially true in astrophotography, where APOs have produced some of the most beautiful images of the heavens ever taken from earth. But not all APOs are created equal. Today’s market is filled with semi-APOs (with two lenses instead of three) that don’t bring all the colors to focus in the refractor. Thanks to a two-year design process and a triple objective lens made from the highest quality ED (extra-low dispersion) glass, Meade Series 5000 ED APO Triplets are virtually free of chromatic aberration (color fringing). This means they outperform the most expensive semi-APOs at a fraction of the cost. Expert observers will be delighted by the total absence of color fringing and the scope’s textbook-perfect pinpoint star images. Even beginners will notice the breathtaking high contrast and resolution of a Series 5000 APO. A70Lf 70mm Achromatic Refractor Telescopes

The A70Lf, although inexpensive, is not a toy telescope. Many amateurs begin with and enjoy countless
hours under the stars with this instrument It has the same quality glass and exacting workmanship that
goes into our much larger instruments.

With this size aperture you will, as I did, be on your way to discovering the craters and mountains on
our moon, the rings around Saturn and the storms on Jupiter. With a star chart you’ll find beautiful

A80Mf 80mm Achromatic Refractor Telescopes

If you are looking to start out with something a little larger than a beginner scope or need a better

than its smaller cousin the A70Lf, this extra aperture will reveal more detail in solar system objects

ED81S 80mm ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescopes

When The ED81S was introduced last year it set a new standard for 80mm APO Refractors. The combination
of better color correction from the new ED glass and brighter images from it’s fast f/7.7 focal ratio
will satisfy the most demanding visual astronomer or astro-photographer.

The new ED glass is made from environmentally friendly lead free materials. The optical tube is very
stable yet light weight. The top carry handle also includes a 1/2-20 stud for piggyback camera
mounting.

Mini PortaMounts

The New Mini-Porta comes equipped with two fine adjustment handles for whole circle slow motion in both directions, very useful in searching and tracking celestial objects. In addition, this is a great mount for terrestrial viewing. Vixen’s gear drives make it a simple matter to precisely track a planet or a ship on the horizon by simply turning the elevation and or azimuth control handles.
